The world’s most popular messenger has recently added activity to communication. Whatsapp now supports GIF animations, as well as the ability to convert videos to animated files of this format, writes Tech Today. The latter option is available for videos no longer than 6 seconds.
The Correct Way of Sending GIFs on WhatsApp
To send animations, you can use the library built in the latest versions of WhatsApp. To do this, click on the button with the “+” sign next to the text input field. A menu will appear where you can tap on “Photo and Video Library” on iOS or “Attach” on Android. Look for the GIF button, which will open the animation library. Select the one you want and click on it to place it in the text box.
WhatsApp animations can also be sent from third-party programs such as Giphy. Just copy the GIFs from the latter to the clipboard and paste them into the messenger. To convert video to GIF, open the Photo & Video Library menu.
So, let’s look at how to send GIFs in WhatsApp. In order for the GIF animation to be sent, follow these steps:
- Make sure your smartphone has WhatsApp version 2.16.16 or higher.
- Open the chat where you send the gif.
- Next to the line where you usually enter your message, find the “+” button and click on it.
- Select “Photo / Video” from the drop-down list.
- At the bottom left there will be a gif section. Click on it.
A search menu will open in front of you, in which you can select any animation, or search for something that seems interesting to you. Also in this menu, you can edit the gif that you already have on your smartphone (for example, crop the gif, add emoji or text). Click on the familiar arrow to send a message. That’s it, the gif has been sent.
Transfer WhatsApp from One Phone to Another
Transferring WhatsApp data from one mobile device to another can be done in two ways – using your own messenger tools of no gif and the operating system of your smartphone/tablet or specialized programs. The latter has been created at the moment, and all of them are usually paid. Judging by the comments of users on various thematic resources on the network, sometimes not all chats and/or not all messages in them are transferred.
